Making Communications Affordable
Lifeline Assistance Program
The Lifeline Assistance Program provides discounted fiber internet or telephone service for qualified low-income customers. Kosciusko Connect offers the Lifeline discount to customers who have satisfied applicable eligibility criteria as established by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
Through the Lifeline Assistance Program, qualifying customers can receive a $9.25 monthly discount on internet service or a $5.25 monthly discount on standalone phone service, but not both. The discount is offered per household, not per person, and a household can only receive a Lifeline discount from one provider. If someone at your address is already enrolled in the Lifeline Assistance Program but you function as separate households (e.g, roomates with separate finances) you may still qualify. If you are unsure about the number of households at your address, complete the Household Worksheet.
Do I Qualify
To qualify for the Lifeline discount, customers must either have an income that is at or below 135% of the federal poverty guidelines or participate in one of the assistance programs listed. You will need to provide proof of participation in one of these programs or proof of income when enrolling in the Lifeline Assistance Program. You can check to see if you qualify by clicking here.
How do I enroll?
To determine if you qualify and enroll in the program, visit the Lifeline National Verifier. Once you determine if you are eligible to receive the Lifeline discount and have registered with the Lifeline National Verifier, please call us at 574-269-0327. Kosciusko Connect is not automatically notified that you have qualified for Lifeline. You must inform us that you have qualified before you can receive the Lifeline discount.
