Alex Wilson - System Administrator

 

Q: Please tell us about your role at Kosciusko Connect. What does a typical day look like for you?

 

A: I am a System Administrator Level 1 and I take care of the Outage Management System for electrical outages, the Futura GIS system, and general IT support. A normal day is helping people with their IT needs and implementing and integrating systems into our network.

 

Q: Could you share some highlights of your educational and/or career journey and what led you to become a part of our team?

 

A: I have a Bachelors Degree in Network Engineering from Indiana Tech and this is my first career job in the IT field so this is the start of my career journey.

 

Q: Kosciusko Connect has rapidly connected over 8,000 subscribers to its fiber internet network since its launch in 2021. What aspects of this growth have been most exciting for you?

 

A: It’s been great when I tell people that when I work for KREMC that the people love the internet that Connect provides for its members. They are ecstatic that they can finally get reliable high-speed internet in rural areas.

 

Q: In your opinion, what sets Kosciusko Connect apart from other internet providers?

 

A: Connect gives high speed internet to places that most places that other companies will not go to.

                             

Q: Outside of work, what are some of your interests or hobbies? Any fun facts about you that our subscribers might find surprising?

 

A: My hobbies are going to concerts, video games, longboarding, and working out at the gym.
